POKER HEADS UP DISPLAY (HUD)
A poker HUD (“head-up display”) is an app for your computer that collects and displays statistics about your opponents. The HUD overlays your poker table with information about how each of your opponents has played in the past. The information is shown directly on the poker table in floating panels next to each player.
What information does HUD show?
When you are playing poker, remembering each player’s habits may become difficult. Does the player raise pre-flop a lot? How often do they go to showdown? Information such as this is shown on the screen against the opponent player and you can make an informed decision about your course of action when it is your turn to act.
In combination with your notes with the HUD, you can identify player patterns and exploit any weaknesses in their game. However, the other players can spot your weakness too, so it is always a 2-way street when using a HUD feature on any site.
HUDs are not a robot. HUDs merely assist you in making a decision. Relying heavily on a HUD statistics to make all your decisions can only lead to disaster.
Another thing about HUDs is that you should play sufficient hands and understand how it works to make effective decisions.
THE SALUS HUD
Our software comes with a built in HUD that displays extensive statistics to your players to help them improve their game. This is an optional feature provided on demand only. Not all sites prefer to have HUDs so depending on what you want to provide your players, this feature is available if required.
What stats are displayed in a HUD?
VPIP: Voluntarily Put Money in Pot (% of times a player has put money in the pot as a bet)
PFR: Pre Flop Raise (% of times the player has raised PRE FLOP)
WTSD: Went to Showdown (% of times the player went to showdown)
W$SD: Won at Showdown (% of times the player went to showdown and won)
3-BET: A 3-bet is the third bet in a poker sequence, in which a player re-raises after the initial pre-flop raise.
C-BET: A continuation bet—also known as a c-bet—is a bet made by the player who made the last aggressive action on the previous street. This process starts with a player making the final raise pre-flop and then firing the first bet on the flop.
